ABOUT
Working predominantly in acrylic, aerosol and digital mediums, Skübz’ artwork is informed by a blend of influences including ancient art, cartoons, animation, comics, graffiti, portraiture and abstraction.
While he spends a lot of time in the studio or workshop, Skübz has years of experience painting large-scale public artworks and murals, as well as working with the community.
His more recent adventures into large-scale sculpture continue to evolve his practice, incorporating up-cycled objects in various ways to create new forms and spark meaningful discussion about waste and the environment.
With an education in Multimedia and Fine Arts, his artistic practice encompasses a broad range of areas. Festival culture, van life, warehouse living, skateboarding, busking, and graffiti have all left their mark.
Themes of Freedom, rebellion and psychonautic travails combine with a sense of nostalgia for the late 90’s and early 2000’s to form the foundation of much of his work.
