ABOUT
Skübz is an Australian artist with a diverse practice exploring themes of the subconscious, spirituality, nature and the contradictions of the human condition. Encompassing a broad range of ever-expanding disciplines, his work skilfully contrives to maintain a distinct and recognisable visual connection across multiple mediums.
Skübz’s work leverages a broad range of accumulated knowledge and skills, incorporating painting, drawing, animation, digital design, graffiti, print making, ceramics, sculpture, bonsai, tattooing and carpentry. Blended with a distinct graphic style informed by a love of cartoons, graffiti and pop-surrealism, these disparate practices intertwine and mingle, resulting in a variety of inspirational and unique artistic outcomes.
Skübz has exhibited in both solo and group shows, primarily in Victoria and NSW. He is very active in the community, and his public work includes many mural projects both small and large around the country, and internationally as far as Valparaiso, Chile.
“For me, creating art is a never ending journey of finding new and interesting ways to challenge and express myself. Each success, failure, new artwork or skill acquired informs what comes next, like a story slowly revealing itself chapter by chapter.”
